STATEMENT OF FAITH
In essential beliefs, we have unity: “There is one body and one Spirit…one Lord, one faith, one baptism; one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all” (Ephesians 4:4-6, NIV).
In non-essential beliefs, we have diversity: “Accept the one whose faith is weak, without quarreling over disputable matters…Who are you to judge someone else’s servant? To their own master, servants stand or fall…So then, each of us will give an account of ourselves to God…So whatever you believe about these things keep between yourself and God…” (Romans 14:1, 4, 12, 22, NIV).
In all our beliefs, we show charity: “If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing.” (I Corinthians 13:2, NIV).
BAPTIST FAITH & BELIEFS
Southern Baptists have prepared a statement of generally held convictions called the Baptist Faith and Message, serving as a guide to understanding who we are. At Briarwood we support the The Baptist Faith and Message and the ministry of the Cooperative Program of the Southern Baptist Convention and ministry of the Georgia Baptist Convention.
